A Holmfirth bridal shop is on the move – but it’s not going far.
Peggy Bridal is moving from Victoria Street to the former home of its sister brand Dotty Bridal in nearby Huddersfield Road.
In August last year Dotty Bridal, founded by entrepreneur Shannon Martin, moved from Holmfirth to Wakefield, opening a first-of-its-kind 16,500 sq ft concept store at Navigation Warehouse.
And now Peggy Bridal is relocating down the road into the old Dotty Bridal store in Holmfirth and will be opening its doors on Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5 for a special coming home event.
The off-the-peg wedding dress boutique first began in Denby Dale before moving to Victoria Street in 2021.
The brand recently closed its York store in a move that allows them to invest more into Holmfirth and the store there, with Peggy moving into the old Dotty boutique, a three-minute walk away, on Huddersfield Road.

The new boutique offers off-the-peg sample dresses from designers like Allure Bridals, Pronovias and Justin Alexander with prices starting at £699.
Dotty and Peggy’s CEO Shannon Martin said: “This is a really important moment for Peggy because we’re seeing more and more couples planning their weddings with much shorter lead times.
“Many brides simply don’t have the luxury of waiting months for a made-to-order gown, which can make traditional bridal shopping more challenging.
“Peggy was created to meet that need. Brides can come in, try on a dress, find the one they love and take it home the very same day.
“We’re offering beautiful, high-quality bridalwear at an incredible price point, without compromising the experience.
“At the same time, the cost of weddings has increased significantly, and we’re very aware of the financial pressures many couples face.
“At Peggy, we want every bride to feel included. We never want someone to walk away feeling that finding their dream dress isn’t possible because of their budget. Our mission is to help every bride, regardless of what they want to spend.”
Appointments can be booked for the Saturday and Sunday opening weekend event.
