Paxman Scalp Cooling, a global pioneer in chemotherapy-related scalp cooling technology, has been recognised as ‘Heroes of British Export’ at the 2025 Made in Britain Impact Awards.
The Fenay Bridge-based manufacturer, which exports to more than 60 countries worldwide, secured the accolade at a ceremony hosted by Made in Britain, a trademark for British-made goods.
Judges praised Paxman Scalp Cooling for its exceptional export growth, expanding international presence and global clinical recognition.
The company has recorded sustained double-digit export growth across multiple regions, with major advances in the Middle East, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Europe and Latin America.
It has also secured strategic partnerships and a landmark merger with Swedish competitor Dignitana further cementing Paxman’s position as a world leader in oncology support.
Anna Parker, head of international sales at Paxman, said: “We manufacture a medical device that allows cancer patients to retain their hair during chemotherapy, and for many of us at Paxman, it’s more than a job – it’s a true calling.
“Every one of us, in some way, has been touched by cancer or knows someone who has been touched by cancer.
“It adds a purpose, knowing that we’re doing something humane to make the often gruesome journey endured by cancer patients that much more tolerable. It’s an absolute pleasure to accept this award on behalf of our team.”
John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, said: “Paxman exemplifies what it means to take British innovation to the world, combining commercial excellence with life-changing impact.
“Paxman’s story is one of ambition, purpose and British ingenuity, delivering meaningful global benefits while proudly carrying the Made in Britain mark.”
The award was presented to Paxman by George Andronikos, head of made smarter innovation policy, batteries, finance and innovative technologies for the Department for Business & Trade.
