Multi-award-winning Alice Armstrong headlines Huddersfield Blues Club show in Marsden

A multi award-winning singer-songwriter is headlining a blues show in the Colne Valley.

Alice Armstrong (pictured), who was voted Contemporary Artist of the Year at the UK Blues Awards for the second year running and has performed live on BBC Radio 2, will be at Marsden Mechanics on Friday, March 20.

She’s one of four acts and tickets for the show, organised by Huddersfield Blues Club, are just £5.

The rest of the line-up is the Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience, Crosscut Saw and Flock of 3.

Alice reshapes nostalgic rhythm and blues grooves through a contemporary lens, delivering heart-breaking ballads and toe-tapping ear-worms with a breathtaking vocal talent, sharp wit and electric stage presence, all backed by a world-class band.

She and her band secured first place at the European Blues Challenge after competing against acts from 22 other countries, has played to sold out venues in more than 20 countries and features on Joe Bonamassa’s Spotify playlists.

The debut self-titled Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience album has received considerable acclaim, a No3 in the UK blues airplay charts and nominations in the UK Blues Awards 2025 and 2026.

In his time Pat from Huddersfield has sung across many genres and worked with festival headlining producers from Zion Train to Camo & Krooked, London Electricity to Murdock to Coldcut and a range of weird and wonderful sounds including with Jeff Buckley/Capt Beefheart guitarist Gary Lucas as well as touring the world as a live artist and as part of Huddersfield legends Kava Kava.

Crosscut Saw are described as “a hoodoo rollercoaster of pure primeval power’’ from Yorkshire and are inspired by the likes of The Black Keys, Magic Sam, RL Burnside, Taj Mahal and Dr John.

Flock of 3 (pictured below) are a funky, rocky, bluesy power trio from Huddersfield who play a variety of musical styles including songs from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford, John Mayer, Robin Trower, Cream, Hendrix, Bill Withers, Ray Charles, Chris Duarte and Alman Bros.
