Resurfacing work is to be carried out on the M62 eastbound between Scammonden Bridge and junction 24 at Ainley Top.
National Highways says the work will be carried out overnight with full closures from 8pm to 6am between junctions 22 and 24 from Tuesday September 1 to Friday October 16.
Closures will run Monday-Friday nights, except for September 21-25, when the M62 is due to remain open in both directions in this section to allow for local authority works on the diversion route.
The resurfacing is being co-ordinated with the ongoing Scammonden Bridge parapet replacement to reduce disruption.
Much of the resurfacing will take place during the existing overnight closures, which are already in place in both directions for bridge works.

A 200-metre exclusion zone will be in place underneath the bridge to protect roadworkers while engineers continue work above.
Diversions Eastbound are: A672 → A58 → A646 → A629 Westbound: A629 → A646 → A58 → A672
A National Highways spokesperson said: “Please allow extra time for your journey and follow signed diversions rather than relying on sat navs.
“National Highways have worked to minimise disruption by combining closures wherever possible and thank you for your patience.”
The work on Scammonden Bridge involves replacing the existing aluminium parapets with new steel ones. Work is due to be completed in January 2027.
