Kirklees Council will be showcasing what the district has to offer at the UK’s leading real estate, regeneration and infrastructure investment event this week.
The council will be promoting the Our Cultural Heart project, the George Hotel and the Station to Stadium Enterprise Corridor in Huddersfield and also the opportunities opened up by the multi-billion-pound Transpennine Route Upgrade.
The UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) takes place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds from Tuesday May 19 to Thursday May 21 and brings together the public and private sector to unlock growth and investment opportunities across the UK.
David Shepherd, executive director of place at Kirklees Council, said: “UKREiiF gives us the platform to showcase our regeneration projects and why our borough is an ideal place for investors and businesses.

“We have major investment plans across Kirklees and are guided by long-term town centre blueprints that set out the changes we want to see over the next decade and beyond, from new housing and cultural spaces to better transport and green public areas.
“We already see some of the regeneration projects gathering pace such as Our Cultural Heart, Dewsbury Arcade and the George Hotel shaping how our town centres are going to look.
“Kirklees is home to cutting-edge engineering, advanced manufacturing and textiles industries – all benefitting from our exceptional northern connectivity.
“By investing in our proud heritage, supporting innovation and enabling high-quality development, we are creating the conditions for long-term inclusive growth and delivering opportunities for investors and development partners to help shape the next chapter of the borough.”
