Students at Kirklees College are preparing to take the next step into higher education after completing their Access to Higher Education Diplomas.
Several students are now heading to universities across the region and beyond, with courses ranging from midwifery and pharmaceutical sciences to accounting and law.
Jessica Catling will study midwifery at the University of Huddersfield while Katie Fenn is heading to the same university to study podiatry.
Amaarah Khaliq will study pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Bradford, while other students are moving into business, finance and law.
Afzal Ahmed will study accounting and finance at Leeds Trinity University.
Esha Alam and Aaryan Ali will both study law. Esha is joining a four-year integrated master’s course at the University of Huddersfield while Aaryan will study at Liverpool John Moores University.
Roxanne Bahri, programme lead for access to HE at Kirklees College, said: “I am so proud of all our students for their results.
“These results are a testament to their hard work and dedication over the last academic year.
“They have all gained the skills that will allow them to thrive on their university courses and eventually in their careers.”
Kirklees College’s main Huddersfield campus is in the Waterfront Quarter on Manchester Road and the college has more than 10,000 students across its seven centres in the district.
The Access to Higher Education Diploma is designed to prepare students for degree-level study and is aimed particularly at people returning to education after some time away or those who left school without the qualifications needed to go straight to university.
More information about Access to Higher Education courses and enrolment is available from Kirklees College or by calling 01484 437100.
