Richard Marshall has been announced as the new gentleman’s vice-captain for 2026 at Woodsome Hall Golf Club in Fenay Bridge.
A member for nearly 30 years, Halifax-born Richard started playing golf at West End Golf Club and was a member there for 15 years before joining Woodsome Hall.
Richard’s father, John, is also a member and recently had a hole in one at 80 years young!
Richard – pictured left with current vice-captain Chris Hillaby – joined Marshalls building products straight from university where he worked in operations management in several factories in Yorkshire, Bedfordshire and Middlesbrough. Richard is now responsible for managing and controlling the capital budget.
Golf and Woodsome have been a huge part of Richard’s life, and he played every Open Championship course by the age of 50.
His sons Nick and Dan are also members at Woodsome having just come through the well supported junior section.
Richard is also a committee member at Lascelles Hall Cricket Club, where he spearheaded fundraising and the building of a new clubhouse for their 200th anniversary in 2025.
