A special service to remember people who have passed away will be held at Huddersfield Parish Church.
The memorial service is held every year for people to go along and remember loved ones, and includes the chance to light a candle and say a prayer.
The service will be held at the church on Sunday, November 2 at 3.30pm.
The vicar of Huddersfield, Rev Canon Rachel Firth, said: “Grief isn’t something that happens and then goes away. When we lose someone we love we are forever changed.
“We hope that services like this help people to remember well. Some will come to think about and be thankful for the joy and love they have shared.
“Others will come to be supported as they process the challenging emotions that come with grieving someone we have had a difficult relationship with.
“Anyone is welcome, whether they think of themselves as ‘church’ people or not. They don’t have to have a connection to our particular church or any church.”
Rachel added: “We’re sensitive to how difficult it has been for many people who have said farewell to loved ones via direct cremation to feel like they’ve said a proper goodbye and we want those people to know they are very welcome here to recognise and remember together.
“Churches are places where celebration, gratitude, sadness, anger and questioning all sit together – all of human experience.”
