The Huddersfield Cricket League has made some changes to match arrangements starting this weekend.

The League Executive said it aimed to return to the full 50-over or 45-over formats as soon as practically possible.

After the first of its fortnightly reviews the League Executive has made a change after considering the most up-to-date Covid guidance from the ECB.

During the current Restricted Period (Government Step 2) 1st XI fixtures will continue to be of 40 overs in duration. However, 2nd XI fixtures will, from May 1, be increased from 35 to 40 overs. Bowlers will be restricted to a maximum of 8 overs per innings.

All other arrangements already announced regarding cricket during the Restricted Period remain unaltered.

It is hoped matches will revert to the full 50-over or 45-over formats after May 17 when Government restrictions are eased further.
