A local company is offering Huddersfield primary schools the chance of a free activity table while helping a charity at the same time.

Seatable UK Ltd, based in Clayton West, has been installing school dining furniture projects since 2005 and have supplied hundreds of schools and colleges across the UK.​

They are giving 10 tables away to the first schools which apply for them and then selling another 50 for just £25 – the normal price is £110 – with all the money going to a Huddersfield charity.

Sales director Simon Thornhill said: “We’re offering one free table delivered directly to the school.

“Many of these schools are working with limited budgets and we’d love to bring a bit of pre-Christmas cheer to the local community.”

If schools want to buy extra tables in the donated styles which are arc, flower and horseshow in red, blue or yellow they are just £25 each with all proceeds going to Slaithwaite-based charity The Ella Dawson Foundation.

The charity is named after 24-year-old Ella Dawson and set up by her family after she died from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in July 2021.

During her treatment Ella observed a critical gap in mental, physical, nutritional and wellbeing support specifically designed for young adults during and beyond cancer.

Drawing from her experience, Ella (pictured below) developed a blueprint for specialist care that could empower young people facing cancer, helping them navigate its unique challenges and rebuild their lives after treatment. The Ella Dawson Foundation has brought Ella’s vision to life.

Since 2022 the charity has supported more than 2,000 young adults and their families and is now a trusted referral partner for 80 hospitals across the UK, ensuring timely, effective support locally, regionally and nationally.

Seatable UK’s product range goes from space-saving practical folding tables to bistro furniture and the furniture can also be leased.
