Huddersfield District League round-up by Aidan Hopson

Josimar Bradshaw and Doran Jordan both scored hattricks as Newsome retained top spot in Division 1 with a thumping 10-2 victory over bottom club Shelley.

Devonte Gayle, Wayde Moses, Trae Gabriel and Kyle Walton completed the scoring for Newsome while Oliver Sutcliffe bagged both Shelley goals.

Heywood Irish Centre continued their fine run of results beating Slaithwaite United 11-0. Nathan Eastwood (four), Kieron Mayall (three), Matt Colcombe (two), Jordan Elvidge and Liam Holmes scored for Heywood who move up to second.

Goals from Wayne Shooter (three), Joe Brennan and Luke Gibson saw Berry Brow move up to third in their 5-1 win over Skelmanthorpe, whose consolation goal was scored by James Capewell. Sam Haigh (two) and Freddie Larder were on the mark as Shepley beat Diggle 3-1.

A Ben Hallitt hattrick and a brace from Elliott McNab saw Kirkheaton Rovers move up to second in Division 2 as they beat Almondbury Woolpack 5-2. David Ginty scored both for the Woolpack.

Dalton Dynamos stay top of the division with goals from Craig Thompson and Sayhan Christopher in their 2-0 win over Kirkburton.

AFC Lindley moved up to third as they won the North Huddersfield derby with goals from Tom White, Oliver Dunne, Tyler Boswell and Usman Adelekelo (two) in a 5-0 win over bottom club Marsh United. Ryan Blackburn, Luke Seatan and Elliott Stevenson scored for Cumberworth in their 3-1 win over Lepton Highlanders.

In Division 3 Meltham Athletic romped to an 8-1 away win at bottom club AFC Dalton with goals from Toby Farrington (four), Nick Whiteley, Louis Carmody, James Hutchinson and Joseph Morgan.

Brook Motors moved up to second place with goals from Dylan Brett (two), Daniel Knutton and Jack Turner in their entertaining 4-3 win over Grange Moor Saints. Cameron Wilkey, Stephen Chandler and Ethan Flynn scored for the Saints.

Deighton made it 11 straight wins to stay 10 points clear at the top of the division by beating Hade Edge 11-1 with Adam Taylor scoring for Hade Edge. Jamal Simpson scored a hattrick and the other scorers were Ben Stott (two), Romell Simpson, Omari Beckford, Jayden Hunte, Paul Pyke, Jamal Hussain and Declan Thomas.

Honley moved up to third in Division 4 with a hard fought 2-1 away win at Brighouse Athletic with both goals scored by Oliver Mansell-Taylor. Ben Whiteley scored a consolation for Brighouse.

Ben Brook and Spencer Moorhouse both hit hattricks as Flockton beat West End Park 6-4. Goals for West End Park were scored by Nathan Clarke (two), Tyrone Sagan and Myles Hooley. Cameron Bradley-Carter (three), Jay Wells (two) and Tevin Watson scored for Mount in their 6-2 win over bottom club Holmfirth Town.

Fothergill and Whittles moved up to second in reserve Division 1 with a 10-3 thumping of Netherton. Joel Denton, Ellis Pejica and Daniel Lorryman scoring for Netherton with Matthew Fitton, Matthew Sutcliffe, Daniel Morton, Josh Baxter-Wild (four) and Benjamin Jorgenson (two) scoring for Fothergills.

Berry Brow stay third despite losing to Newsome 5-2. Newsome stay top with goals from Dean Simmonds (two), Adam Hill (two) and James Knowles whilst goals for the Brow were scored by Kyle Forde and Dean Siddiq.

Adam Lawlor (two), George Jowett and Josh Fowler were on the mark for Scholes as they beat Heywood Irish Centre 4-1 with Matthew Jaggar scoring for Heywood’s.

A Matthew Shaw hattrick and goals from Javan Allison and Dominic McDonald-Webster saw Deighton take the points in a 5-3 win at Britannia Sports. Jaron Edwards, James Meadows and Jake Mallinson scoring for Britannia.

A goal from Peter Yongman was not enough as bottom club Shelley lost at home 3-1 to Diggle. Sam Johnson, Chris Philpot and Jack Pickering scored Diggle’s goals.

Kirkburton were made to fight to stay top of Division 2 with a narrow 2-1 win at home to bottom club Holme Valley Academicals. Milo Kelly scored for the Academicals whilst Jay Calcutt and Jack Woods scored for Burton.

Cumberworth moved up to second with goals from James Earnshaw (three), Ethan Phelan (four) and Harvey Rathbone in an 8-1 win over Scholes A. Jonny Morgan and Bradley Dawson scored for Meltham Athletic in their 5-2 defeat away at AFC Lindley.

Scissett beat Britannia Sports A 2-0 with goals from Callum Geldart and Alex Jacques. Holmbridge with goals from Simon Walsh, Samuel Hobson (two), Gary Parr (two), Daniel Goodwin (four) and James Phillips comfortably beat a weakened Almondbury Woolpack 11-0.

Berry Brow A stay top of Division 3 following their 3-1 win at bottom club Wooldale Wanderers. Alex Perry and Stephen Njenga (two) scored the goals for the Brow.

Bradley Howe (four), Dominik Moorhouse (two), Ben Boulton, Josh Moore and Scott Garside were on the mark as Slaithwaite United moved up to second following their 9-3 win over Deighton A. Leevan Brown (two) and Amari David scored for Deighton.

Hade Edge with goals from Arron Gill, Isaac Sturgess (two) and Thomas Hancock squeezed past Mount 4-3. Billy Walsh (two) and Sam Dawson scored Mount’s goals.

Netherton A with goals from Vishal Jalota and Sam Winterburn were beaten by Cumberworth A 5-2. Taylor Hartley (three), Anthony Higham and Josh Gower scored for Cumberworth.

Shepley moved up to second in Division 4 by beating bottom club West End Park Development 5-2 with goals from Elliott George, Jordan Taylor, Scott Sykes (two) and Matthew Lambe. Dean Comins scored both for West End Park.

Zach Ainley scored for Honley in their 1-1 draw with neighbours Brook Motors Development whose goal was scored by Harry Mallinson. Callum Chima and Shaun Smith scored for Kirkheaton Rovers in their 2-0 win over Berry Brow B.

In the West Riding Challenge Cup Linthwaite Athletic with goals from Ernest Boafo, Ryan Wadsworth and Connor Beaumont beat West Yorkshire League Premier division side Kirk Deighton Rangers 3-0.

In the West Riding Challenge Trophy, Evan Ladley, Harvey Miller, James Thorpe, Ryan Matthews and Antony Wadsworth scored for AFC Volunteers in their 5-1 win over Dewsbury Rangers OB.

Linthwaite A with a solitary goal from Nicky Pike lost 5-1 at home to West Yorkshire League Alliance side Headingley FC.

Richard Eales scored for Holme Valley Academicals in their 3-1 defeat at home to Horsforth St Margaret’s from the West Yorkshire League. Britannia Sports travelled to Leeds to play West Yorkshire League side East End Park and lost 5-2.

Linthwaite Reserves easily beat Yorkshire Amateur League side Alwoodley 9-3 with goals from George Greatbatch (three), Joe Stephenson (two), Jamie Byrne (two), Liam Knight and Jacob Woods. Netherton travelled to Yorkshire Amateur League side Tyersal and despite goals from Adam Robertshaw and Michael Carter just lost 3-2.
