Buddy Cox struck his seventh goal of the season as Golcar United drew 2-2 against Hemsworth Miners Welfare at the Skye Direct Stadium on Saturday. 

All four goals were scored in the first half, with three being put away inside the first 20 minutes.

Ben Gelder put Hemsworth ahead in the 14th minute before Adam Field levelled three minutes later. Cox put the Weavers in front only for Hemsworth’s Nash Connolly to make it 2-2 just before the break.

Sam Essien was in impressive form and after the game it was announced he had extended his loan from Halifax Town until the end of the season.

Golcar’s next game is away at Frickley on Saturday March 4 (3.00).
