Emley AFC have announced their pre-season schedule and it involves some pretty tasty fixtures including one against Huddersfield Town.

Emley will face Town on July 30 (7.45pm) at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground. The two sides have met a number of times over the last few seasons and it has now become a pre-season staple.

Supporters usually get to see some of Town’s new signings and younger players for the future. For their part, Emley get to test out their squad against football league opposition.

Emley didn’t take part in the Yorkshire Trophy tournament that took place in May. However their first opponents in pre-season are Liversedge who were the eventual winners of the competition. A tough side to play at the best of times this will be a hard opener for the Pewits. That game takes place at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on July 8 (7.45pm).

The club then make the difficult trip to Worksop just two days later and after that its local rivals Golcar United on July 17 (3pm) at the Skye Direct Stadium.

On July 20 (7.45pm) the Pewits go to Ossett United. The club’s penultimate friendly is against Stocksbridge Park Steels at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground on July 23 (7.45pm). The club’s final pre-season friendly is that one against Huddersfield Town.
