Europe’s largest footwear retailer Deichmann has opened its latest store in Huddersfield.

The German-owned chain opened its doors in the Kingsgate Centre on Tuesday.

The store, a £370,000 investment by the company created 11 new jobs.

A spokesman for the company said: “We are excited to introduce Huddersfield to our great value-for-money offering for all the family and hope the locals are as excited as we are.

“We will be offering limited opening offers and customers can also win free shoes on the opening weekend.”

To mark the occasion, the store has announced giveaways and family fun activities are to be held throughout the day on Saturday, June 4. In-store offers will include:

  • Free Shoes for the store’s first 25 customers on Saturday June 4 (up to £25.00) 
  • Opening Offers on a select range of shoes
  •  Limited edition bags for the first 500 customers 
  • Spin the wheel game with exclusive discounts and giveaways to win
