Comedy Cellar headliner Eric Rushton ‘bona fide tip for the very top’ of the comedy mountain

Sublime stand-up comedy returns to the Comedy Cellar at the Lawrence Batley Theatre on Thursday October 30.

Closing the show is the wonderfully unique Eric Rushton, Channel 4 Sean Lock Award winner and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year.

Described as ‘gloriously and unpretentiously daft’ by Rolling Stone and ‘a northern Napoleon Dynamite’ by Beyond The Joke, Eric has starred in The Stand Up Sketch Show and is established as a bona fide tip for the very top of the comedy mountain.

Opening the night is Lovell Smith, Midlands Best New Act Award winner and Daliso Chaponda UK tour support.

According to Nathan Caton from Live at the Apollo, Lovell has ‘charisma, charm, confidence and quality jokes.’

There are also a couple of excellent middle acts in the form of Chris Richmond and his onstage swagger plus the riotous cynicism of Amy Albright.

The evening is compered by Metro Award winner Anthony J. Brown, with the show starting at 8pm. Tickets are £15, available at the venue box office or via the LBT website HERE.
