People intrigued by a unique kind of gym in Huddersfield can see inside it for themselves this weekend.
Electrician and property renovation expert Stuart Berry renovated a former hairdressing salon on Leymoor Road in Golcar into Gym Pod HD7, a small gym packed with the latest training equipment which anyone can hire.
It’s like a Tardis inside with several personal trainers now using it so they can help clients in total privacy. The trainers have different specialisms such as helping women aged over 40, full body transformations or rehabilitation.
There will be an open day at the gym this Saturday, January 24 from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Stuart said: “The gym’s getting popular and people who pass by are intrigued by it so we thought we’d open the doors. It’s the chance to see inside and also chat to all the personal trainers who use it to understand why they think it’s so good for their clients.
“There are lots of people who don’t want to go to a membership type gym for all kinds of reasons. They may be self-conscious, it could be always busy so they can’t get on the equipment they want, or they want to work with a personal trainer in private.
“With our pod the gym is exclusively yours for the time you hire it and no-one else can access it while you’re there.”
All the gym equipment is brand new – mainly the top end Primal brand – and includes a multi-gym, rowing machine, bike, treadmill, a full body workout on a SkiErg fitness machine designed to mimic the movements of Nordic skiing, weights and dumbbells along with a power plate and a leg curl workout machine.
It also has a sound system so people can play their own music via Bluetooth without having to use headphones and a giant TV screen so they can play training videos or anything else they want to watch while working out.
