BrockFest is back for its third year and is shaping up to be the best yet.
What started out as a return for the Brockholes Carnival has grown into a highlight of the local calendar, bringing the community together for a day of fantastic live music, great food and locally-brewed real ale.
BrockFest is held at Brockholes Recreation Ground on Saturday August 30 from 12noon to 9.30pm.
It’s a free, family-friendly festival with something for everyone. From a bouncy castle and a circus skills area to plenty more activities throughout the day, BrockFest is designed to be a celebration for the whole community.
Music comes from Olivia & Tyrus (1pm), Mason Whittle (2.45pm), Blind Monkeys (4.30pm) and Helter Skelter (7pm).
All the food is supplied by local traders – including Burger Burger and Tinbox Pizza – and visitors can expect a brilliant mix of stalls from across the area.

Every pint served is locally brewed and every penny raised goes straight back into funding future village events and supporting community initiatives.
Organiser Clr Tony McGrath said: “None of this would be possible without the hard work, planning and generous support from our sponsors.
“A huge thank you goes to Accu’s Alastair Morris and Martin Ackroyd whose continued backing as our main sponsor keeps BrockFest alive and thriving.
“We are also grateful to our festival partners 247blinds.co.uk, Six Two Eight Design and Elson-Hood Group, along with our brilliant barrel sponsors, all recognised in the programme and on the stage banner.

“In true BrockFest spirit, we are offering something special for our travelling football fans to celebrate Accu’s sponsorship of Huddersfield Town’s home stadium.
“Anyone returning from the Barnsley away match on the rail replacement bus that passes the festival can show their ticket to claim their first pint of real ale for free!”
Clr McGrath added: “BrockFest is more than just an event. It is a celebration of community pride, collaboration and local talent.
“Come down, bring the family, enjoy the music and raise a glass to everyone who makes Brockholes such a brilliant place to call home.”
The party doesn’t stop when the festival closes. The Rock Inn across the road will have the band Kings of Wishful Thinking on stage from 9pm.
