Huddersfield accountancy firm Simpson Wood has been shortlisted for two awards in the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards — Managing Partner of the Year and the Private Client Award.
Danny McAllister, managing director of Simpson Wood, said: “I’m delighted that the firm has been recognised in this way by the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards and personally humbled at being shortlisted for Managing Partner of the Year.
“We’re grateful to the judges for all their hard work so far and we’re really looking forward to the awards event in February.”
The Yorkshire Accountancy Awards celebrate the county’s best accountancy firms. The independent panel of judges this year includes the president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Derek Blair; and the president of the Association of Taxation Technicians, Graham Batty.
In announcing this year’s shortlist, the judges pointed out the challenge of narrowing down the finalists, with such a high standard across the board.
Danny added: “We’re really honoured to be included as finalists in two of the awards.
“I’m particularly pleased that we’re a finalist for the Private Client Award, as it highlights how the strong team we have across all areas of accountancy, tax and wealth management work so well together to get the best outcome for our clients.”
Simpson Wood is an independent accountancy, tax and financial services firm based in Huddersfield and Leeds.
It has been part of the Yorkshire business community for almost 150 years, having been founded by Fred Lockwood in Moldgreen in 1880.
The firm moved to Bank Chambers in Market Street in 1913. The building was also the site of the old Huddersfield Stock Exchange and Simpson Wood still operates from these premises today.
The winners of the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards will be announced at a black-tie event at New Dock Hall in Leeds on February 26 2026.
