It promises to be a great festive soul-shaking night out – and tickets are selling fast.
The Colne Valley Funk & Soul Club returns to its spiritual home at the Marsden Royal British Legion on Boxing Day.
Dance Floor Soul, Glitterball Disco and Fatback Funk are guaranteed to get people on their feet and full of the Christmas spirit.
Colne Valley Funk & Soul was set up by Ollie Maude and Karl Leonard in 2014 with aim of providing a fun music event for locals while helping venues in the Colne Valley increase their revenue.
The duo ran 10 sell-out club nights, two huge festivals and countless bar and pub gigs up until late 2017 when Ollie left the UK to travel Asia before settling in Melbourne, Australia
A Christmas trip back to Yorkshire means the duo have reunited for their first proper soul-shaking club night since October 2016.
“It seems like a lifetime ago so there’s plenty of catching up to do,” said Ollie. “We honestly can’t wait to catch up with the regulars who made the past events such a success and welcome new faces to the dance floor.
“Speaking of dance floors, on the night we’ll be shipping in a crystal clear heavyweight sound system, light show and a few extra surprises to keep the festive vibes rolling until 2am.
“As always there’ll be a reet good mix of records, handpicked and mixed from our deep vinyl collections.
“From Northern Soul and Motown to funk and disco, we’ll also have versions of the classics that you won’t hear anywhere else.
“The Colne Valley has such a great community spirit and this is something we always try to capture at these nights.
“We’re hoping this event brings a few new people up into Marsden for the day to explore what the village has to offer before coming up to the Legion for a dance.”
The night runs from 8pm-2am and is ticket only, no pay on the door. Tickets cost £20 and can be bought HERE.
