Huddersfield Lawn Tennis & Squash Club continue to pick up victories on the road, edging Barnsley to an overall 12-4 victory.
Seed 1: Dan Lawton 3–1 Mark
After losing the first game, 5–11, Dan managed to pick up an overall victory of 3–1. This was the longest match of the night, with court conditions suiting the home side. Dan managed to stick to the game plan and grind a victory using a good variety of retrieval shots.
Seed 2: Mike Coombes 3–2 Paul
For the second week in a row, Mike Coombes managed to hang on in to claim a 3-2 victory. Mike battled hard to hold onto the lead, but nearly threw the game having held three game points in the 4th game. Paul, an intelligent player, came from 2-0 down and ensured this game was the most competitive of the night.
Seed 3: Jon Lidster 3-1 Stan
Another seasoned squash player, Jon played his first ever competitive match of racketball in a convincing win against Stan of Barnsley. Jon was excellent throughout, and showed great court coverage to claim victory 3-1.
Another excellent victory for Huddersfield LTSC racketballers, which is two wins in succession on the road. The next game is Phoenix Squash Club away. Phoenix sit at the top of the league and are fierce rivals who finished second in the league last year.
