Golcar United were knocked out of the FA Vase losing 3-2 to Newcastle Benfield in what was a close encounter.
Dan Naidole took his goal tally to 13 for the season as he scored both United’s goals on the day.
The game started well with the Weavers going 1-0 up in the 12th minute when Naidole slid the ball past the Newcastle keeper. Benfield equalised two minutes later when Paul Brayson slotted home.
The home side then took the lead with some clever play, the ball eventually came through to Sam Walton who put the ball in the back of the net to make it 2-1 to Newcastle.
With ten minutes to go the home side extended their lead with a quick breakaway and Brayson scored his second to make it 3-1 to Benfield.
Naidole had the final say when he grabbed his second goal five minutes from the end, however it wasn’t enough and Golcar ran out of time.
Next up for Golcar is a league game at the Skye Direct Stadium against South Liverpool on Tuesday (7.45).
